Fuji Xerox Announces 2019 PIXI Awards Winners
Recognizing Creative and Innovative Works in Digital Printing
SINGAPORE, December 18, 2019 - Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd announced the 43 winners of the 2019 PIXI (Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging) Awards Competition. In its 12th year, this annual competition honors the most outstanding and innovative digitally-printed pieces by users of Fuji Xerox solutions from across the Asia Pacific region – with entries coming from Australia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The 2019 PIXI Awards attracted 248 entries for the 24 award categories, with a significant increase in the number of entries year by year. Award categories including Application-based category, Print Technology Sector category, and newly-added category Best Use of Creative Design were more clearly defined this year. The award categories aimed to showcase the wide range of jobs that the Iridesse™ Production Press can achieve with its specialty colours and applications.
The returning panel of printing industry experts were Paul Callaghan, publisher and chairperson of the Asian Print Awards, Major Wong Wing Kwong who has more than 20 years of experiences in the print industry, and the newly-appointed judge Paul Hornsby, managing director of Tree House Design. They assessed all entries based on criteria including print quality, appropriate use of digital technology, degree of innovation, business effectiveness and overall aesthetics
"We are seeing that the use of special colours like Gold, Silver and Metallic are now commonplace in the competition, and the way in which companies are using these to enhance the work they print is truly amazing,” commented Paul Callaghan, head of the 2019 PIXI Awards judge panel. “What we see today in the work being judged is something only a few years back was almost considered impossible, so as technology continues to advance, it’s anyone’s guess what we will be looking at for judging in the years ahead."
Out of the 43 winners in total; 22 winners and 21 runners-up in all categories, 31 award-winning applications were produced by the Iridesse™ Production Press, including the winner of the “Best in Show” category (image attached). “This is a brilliant performance from our customers and it proves that Iridesse™ Production Press is an award-winning Production Press!” Paul commended.

2019 PIXI Awards "Best in Show" was awarded to Intertype from Australia for submission of Designer Education Kit.
The winning applications will be showcased in Fuji Xerox Graphic Communication Service in Tokyo, Japan and at the regional Graphic Communication industry events.
For an opportunity to receive further recognition, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific submits all entriesNote 1 into the Asian Print Awards, a competition for printers in the region.
